How will you help me find and attract customers?

Using tried and tested marketing strategies, we’ll help you narrow your search and get to know your ideal customer so well that they’ll find your company helpful and want to engage. Once your customers are ready to buy, you’ll already be on their short list.

Why do I need to attract new customers?

If getting new customers has left you feeling stuck, or the thought of cold calling doesn’t appeal to you, it’s time to start looking at a marketing strategy that will help your customers in their journey while attracting them to your company. We’re here to help you attract customers in a way that doesn’t feel like cold calling but by becoming a trusted resource.

What are 4 ways to attract customers?

  1. Identify your ideal customer.

  2. Make your content from your website to social posts, blog, etc about your ideal customer and their hopes, dreams, challenges, and your solutions that help.

  3. Find out what makes your customers loyal and find ways to amplify that.

  4. Communicate along the way with prospects and customers, don’t assume they know what’s going on.

What attracts and keeps customers?

Marketing: great marketing attracts customers by relating to them, keeping the message simple, and recognizing they’re not all ready to buy at the same time.

  • Sales & Marketing: marketing, when partnered with sales, offers the best of both worlds because customers often go through stages which involve a back and forth between marketing and sales, and when the two are well partnered, the customer has a consistent and connected experience.

  • Communications: keeping customers often comes down to clear, concise, and timely communications, great process, and a listening ear that takes action on feedback.

How do you use content marketing to attract customers?

Content marketing should do at least one of three things: educate, entertain, or inspire. Knowing your ideal customer well will help you determine the mix and what will appeal to them and help them have the right experience with your content, and want to hear more from your company. The best content marketing brings the audience back with consistent, relevant content which ideally becomes a go-to resource for your audience. Remember, if it’s not going to educate, entertain, or inspire your audience - what’s it for, then?

What are the ways a small business can attract new customers and grow their business?

Focus on your differentiators. Stop trying to compete with the big guys by playing their game - instead, focus on what makes your company unique, special, and ideally - find out why your customers stay loyal to you. Then lean into that advantage and use is in your messaging. You can even turn loyal customer experiences into stories you share with propspective customers.

Should I buy a list to attract more customers?

The short answer is no, but sometimes yes. Buying a list can have consequence because the people on the list haven’t raised their hand or made an indication that they want to hear from you - so they’re coming in cold.

However, buying a list can grow your audience and give you a starting point to reach out to potential customers. LinkedInand ZoomInfo are two platforms that can help you build lists based on customer profiles, which is a more targeted way to buy a list. You can also purchase lists through companies like Agile, who will build the lists based on your criteria.

In short, we recommend building your own list and having a journey to take customers and prospects on with consistent and frequent content to keep them informed, inspired, entertained, and engaged. Buy a list to supplement and/or get started, don’t make it your entire list building strategy.

Why do small businesses use Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Search Engine Marketing (SEM)?

One of the biggest benefits for small business is the internet. Any business can have a website, strong social media presence, and actively engage with their audience, and use all of these tactics to stand out in the sea of competition, even among the big guys.

Search engines are designed to search for content and information which address the needs of their users. The more relevant content pertinent to the audience’s inquiries, generally the higher a company would rank organically in Search Engine Optimization (SEO). In other words, SEO helps a company rank higher on google and other search engines without paid ads. Other factors come into play, such as page loading speed and types of content, but at it’s heart, SEO works best for small business when they offer relevant, highly targeted content.

Search Engine Marketing (SEM), on the other hand represents paid ads where companies essentially bid on key words and phrases relevant to their target audience. SEM ads are labelled as sponsored or Ad, but they have the advantage of being listed in a prominent position on the search results page, even though users are savvy enough to know they paid to be there.

Smart businesses leverage a combination of SEO and SEM, and are highly strategic about where they spend their ad dollars, letting SEO point them in the right direction.

Small Businesses that rank high by utilizing SEO strategies tend to:

  • Identify their target customer, and specifically address them in their content.

  • Create content that helps their ideal customer research, evaluate, and understand their industry which also helps establish their brand as a trusted resource.

  • Find a way to entertain their audience while educating them.

  • Inspire their audience to take action.

  • Offer quality content on a consistent basis to build trust with the audience and the search engines. The same is true for social media platforms.

  • Regularly update their website with relevant content.

  • Use customer feedback and the ways their customers talk in their content.

  • Actively engage with their audience and customers, both online and offline.

  • Offer a great customer experience and have raving fans.

How do you measure the success of a marketing campaign?

Marketing is measured by attention and engagement. Every medium measures it a little differently, and measuring success is the best way to learn, see what’s working and what isn’t, and determine where to iterate. For example, social media is measured by impressions and engagement (likes, shares, comments), whereas a live event is measured by registrations, attendance rate, audience engagement, and feedback. Marketing always requires a strong call to action to not only measure, but guide the audience in the direction you want.

Best practice is to establish clear and realistic Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) at the onset of a campaign, and evaluate throughout to determine if you’re on the right track or if the KPI’s are realistic. For example, if your list is small but highly engaged, email open rates will be stellar, i.e. 20-40% open rates. Whereas, if you purchase a list and have just started nurturing, expect open rates to be closer to 1-%, 5% if you’re highly targeted and have a very clean list.

Will I end up paying more money to purchase ads?

Our goal is to help you determine the most effective marketing message so that if and when you do spend money on ads, you’ve already tested what works and know you have a winner to put dollars behind.
